How to Add Medicard iFinance as a Payment Option on Dubsado
If you're interested in incorporating Medicard iFinance as a payment option for your prospective clients, you can absolutely set this up via Dubsado and it couldn't be easier to set up. There are a few important notes to consider at the end of this article, be sure to check those out to see if incorporating Medicard iFinance is a fit for you!
What you need:
An account with Medicard iFinance
Your own custom payment link that you can share with clients
(It should look something like this: https://apply.medicard.com/14321)
Here's how to add your Medicard iFinance Link to Your Invoices on Dubsado:
Step 1: Click on the gear icon to access the Settings panel
Step 2: Select "Payments and Invoices" from the list
Step 3: Locate Invoice Settings and add some text to the "Bottom" of the Invoice Terms section
Step 4: Click "Save Changes"
This is what your prospective customer will see.
They will have the option to pay in full or pay whatever your default payment plan is by clicking the "Pay Now" button(s), or they can click the link to pay via Medicard iFinance.
THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:
You may need to manually clear the client's invoice in Dubsado if you've taken payment elsewhere.
(this only really matters IF you're using Dubsado for bookkeeping purposes or if your Dubsado is synced to a bookkeeping software).
You may need to update your Workflow Template if you have any steps that trigger from an invoice or installment being paid.
(we recommend triggering it from Contract Signing, instead).
This note will be at the bottom of ALL invoices on Dubsado, not just for new clients signing up for your initial program. So if you use Dubsado to share invoices that differ from the particular offer you've set up with Medicard, you'll need to communicate this clearly to your clients so they don't accidentally purchase the wrong package.
If you typically include additional package options on your Dubsado Package Proposals that aren't included in your Medicard iFinancing plan, it's important to consider that this may not be a good fit for you. Having Medicard iFinance linked as a payment plan option could be confusing for prospective clients as enrolling in Medicard iFinance will only cover one of the potentially multiple packages they may choose. They will still need to send payment for any remaining package selections.
